EXTERNAL ADVISORY BOARD
The MSc by Research in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (MRES) curriculum and study regulation is regularly reviewed and updated as advised by the MSc External Advisory Board (EAB). Thanks to their knowledge and experience, the Board members’ role is instrumental in the continuous monitoring, updating and improvement of the MSc structure and contents. Board members are sought from among the prominent members of academia, research centers, as well as industry, manufacture and service provision companies that are active in the field of EEE and that host R&D sections or activities.
The strategy of MRES in order to obtain and fully benefit from its EAB is to rely on the expertise of the corresponding departmental Advisory Board Committee (https://eee.uniwa.gr/en/home/external-advisory-committee ) for the initial setting up and running of the program. According to the UNIWA Internal Regulation, the departmental committee is entrusted with the advisory role for both the undergraduate and graduate study programs of the Department. As of 2022-23, the standing departmental committee is comprised of the following members, in alphabetic order:
From the part of MRES, this choice is consistent with the fact that, rather than specializing into a narrow subfield of EEE, MRES extends to the full spectrum of subjects and areas within the field of EEE; the departmental committee is therefore suitable as it covers all major EEE areas (Electric Power, Telecommunications, Electronics and Computer Systems/Networks).
On the other hand, the ideal Board for MRES should be aligned with the research dimension that is essential in MRES curriculum design and delivery. MRES seeks new EAB memberships that are directly involved in research activities across all aspects of research (methodology, rules and ethics, design, implementation, promotion, dissemination, exploitation-patents-IPRs). To this end, MRES addresses specific institutions and individuals of prominent research profiles and invite them through focused meetings and presentations where the merits and mutual benefits of advising a research-oriented MSc are documented.
