Learning Resources

All enrolled Postgraduate Students are given access to the printed and online material, the collections and the electronic services of the UNIWA Libraries. UNIWA Libraries are members of the Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (HEAL-link, https://www.heal-link.gr/). Through this membership, they offer a broad spectrum of electronic services for search and retrieval of information across all disciplines and cross-disciplinary study Programmes of UNIWA. Details are given in the corresponding Library webpages (https://library1.uniwa.gr/en/homepage, https://library2.uniwa.gr/).

Digital learning content for all UNIWA Programmes and courses is made available to students through the eclass (https://eclass.uniwa.gr/) and moodle (https://moodle.uniwa.gr/) platforms operated and parametrized for the needs of UNIWA. Through these platforms, students are given access to class and course module material for asynchronous learning. Synchronous distance learning (teleconferencing) is performed through the MS Teams platform.

In addition, all UNIWA students are given access to a set of useful software tools such as Matlab®, SPSS®, MSOffice365®, etc.

For enrolled MRES students, all supplementary study material is offered online in the asynchronous UNIWA eclass platform (https://eclass.uniwa.gr ), under the MRES study program (https://eclass.uniwa.gr/modules/auth/courses.php?fc=301), organized per course module and in alignment with course descriptions in MRES Program Study Regulation and MRES website.

Student Support

UNIWA operates two sports centres, one at Egaleo Park Campus and one at the Ancient Olive Grove Campus, where students and staff can work out every day except Saturdays and Sundays. The premises are fully equipped with fitness equipment, while the UNIWA Gym staff guides and supervises every interested visitor.

Additionally, UNIWA operates two infirmaries, one in each of the two campuses, in order to address the health needs of students, professors, administrative staff, visiting staff, etc. These clinics have proprietary medical equipment (ultrasound scanner, gynaecological bed, ophthalmological instruments), which is unique for Greek HEIs and cooperate with a set of specialized medical doctors, such as optometrists etc.

Furthermore, catering of the meals to the UNIWA students is offered in 3 student restaurants located at the 3 campuses of the University. The restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and are open daily, weekends and public holidays included, from the September 1st to June 30th of each academic year, except for the official Christmas holidays and Easter holidays. According to the current legislation, the students of UNIWA are entitled to apply for free meals. The students who are not eligible for free meals may still benefit of the student restaurants by paying a low daily rate for a full menu (lunch and dinner).

Regarding student accommodation, UNIWA does not run its own dormitories so as to ensure the free of charge accommodation to the students. However, UNIWA students are entitled to apply for free accommodation at the dormitory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, under specific conditions and terms.
